Ephesians One:Eleven

In him we were all chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will

It's that time again. Though I secretly wish I could do my job forever, I am ever so excited to get back into the classroom. In doing that though, I must remember that it's his will, and not mk's will as to what to do.  He's got a great plan in store for me, and I know that I must prepare by filling out as many teaching applications as possible and praying nonstop. I can't wait to see where the Lord leads me to teach and how the children will continue to change my life. I would love a trip down a road a gorgeous and breathtakingly beautiful as the picture above too if possible. Can that be found in Atlanta?

What's black and red and likes to shake?

Answer: 1,135 people doing Zumba at one time

This is a preview of what we did. Well, we weren't nearly professionals.

Just another day in the office: On Saturday, I helped set the new World Record for the number (previous record: 800) of people doing Zumba at one time while visiting the Beta Epsilon chapter at the University of South Carolina. Is your job that cool?

A Celebration of Love

"The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love and to let it come in"-Morrie Schwartz
My precious Dad sent this to me this morning. I'm glad I got to be his Valentine in 1994. Was this the year he left me at the Father/Daughter dance?? I've gotten over it, I promise.
While I was running today, I was thinking about Valentine’s Day. Seeing as today is the 12th of February, I know it’s just around the corner. I formerly was one of those let’s all wear black on Valentine’s Day kind of gals; however, I’m starting to see the light on this seemingly "Hallmark" holiday. Some say why do you need to do anything special for loved ones on Valentine’s Day, you should be doing that 365 days a year if you really love them. I know that because that was my excuse.
Think about it though: we don’t only proclaim that we are Christians on Christmas or Easter. Those are just 2 days out of the year where we celebrate the birth and resurrection of our Lord. Yes, I am a Christian the other 363 days of the year too, but on those days, I celebrate the gift of our Lord.
Though, I realize V-Day isn’t religious, but it is a day to celebrate the love, not just the romantic kind, you have in your life. Go ahead, whatever love language* your loved ones speak, celebrate the love you give and receive on the 14th. It’s ok, and I plan on doing that too even if there are several states between me and the people I love.

* I just took the Love Language test, and it was really interesting. What love language do you speak? Can you guess which one I use most often?

He Chose Me (and you)?

Watch this!

Coolest thing you've ever seen/never thought of it like that? Thought so.

So I began reading Crazy Love by Francis Chan yesterday and can't get over how challenged I have been by it. I want to share it all with you. I have read almost 70 pages, and each page is filled with words that basically “Hey, MK, are you really, truly in love with God? Are you really living your life for Him?” To which I respond, “Well I think so”. What?!? “I think so.” Really?!

I want to have a faith as strong as Isaiah’s. In Isaiah 6:8, God said to Isaiah, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” Isaiah, without hesitation, says, “Here I am. Send me!” I don’t think I’ve ever been that quick to answer anything much less a call from God. I want to be in a relationship so deep and sacred with God that I can, at a moment’s notice, follow where God asks me to go. As a side note, my favorite and personally most worshipful song is Here I am Lord. I am challeneged everytime I sing that song to live the lyrics.

This book is teaching me how to love a God who is responsible for everything you see in that clip above. It is teaching me that I can’t possibly fathom how wonderfully, magnificent, loving, and all powerful our God is because “God exists outside of time, and since we are within time, there is no way we will ever totally grasp that concept.” This God who is bigger than you and I could ever imagine made a decision to save both you and me (and everyone else for that matter) from the penalties of sin. Why? Because He loves me (and you) no matter what we do. What have I done to deserve this? Nothing. It’s that simple, MK.

Ok, so this book is still challenging me, and it’s causing me to dig deep, really deep into the Word to figure out this radical, unconditional love that God is giving freely to me. I just need to learn how to truly, honestly, and whole heartedly return that love.
Yep, that same God that loves you and me unconditionally is responsible for this too.

Big Picture or No?

The other day I was in an airport restroom imagine that, and I was washing my hands and placed my hands underneath the faucet expecting it to turn on. It never did, so I thought it was broken and moved to the next sink and repeated the process. Well, that darn sink didn’t work either. A lady next to me reached over and turned the knob, and what do ya know, the water flowed endlessly. Needless to say, I was rather embarrassed. Had I forgotten how to turn on a faucet. I have gotten so use to everything being automatic these days to prevent the spread of germs that when something was “old school” I hadn’t even recognized it.

I wonder if I have become like this in my own life. I get so very caught up in what I’m doing that I forget to see the big picture. If you want to get technical, the fovea view. It’s the part of the eye used for sharp vision so for reading, watching TV, driving etc. It works with other parts of the eye to see the big picture, but what if I have stopped seeing that big picture. I don’t think I have, but that day I could only see the details. I worry sometimes that I am moving through this thing called life too fast. Yes, these 2 day chapter visits aren’t helping me slow down much, but I need to really begin thinking about how I’m spending my time. I need to slow down. I want to write more letters, read more books, call more friends, and I can’t do these things if I’m trying to speed through life. Have you caught yourself speeding through and simply checking things off the to-do list?

So I mentioned my travels earlier, and I would like to share my February Schedule:
